Planet Waves Dual Action Capo

So I bought a new capo. It's one of these:

It was a bit of a risk, because I generally dislike trigger style capos, simply because they normally apply too much pressure to the strings and put the guitar too much out of tune, so you have to retune every time you use it, or even move it. I realise all capos have a bit of a tendency to put your guitar out of tune, but with my trusty Shubb and the setup of my S&P Electro Acoustic guitar being so good I generally don't have to do this.

The key difference with this Planet Waves trigger capo though is that it has a screw to adjust the tension in the spring. I guess this it's why it's called a "Dual Action" capo. I must say that it really does work and I like it. The advantage of a trigger is that it's really quick to use and move. The added advantage of this one is that it can be adjusted to stop it squeezing your strings too hard, but also adjusted with one hand (my left hand), while on the guitar, to either increase or decrease the tension. So, if you've had it fretted on the 5th fret and then move to the 2nd fret, generally you would find there may be some strings buzzing (the high strings for me). While it's on the guitar you can then give it a half turn or so and this eliminates the buzz and keeps the guitar in tune.

My reservation is that I'm not used to using it! I think it works best if I attach it from the bottom side of the fret board. This is actually more awkward to apply, but the tension adjustment seems to work better this way around as it's nearer the strings that buzz. I'm sure I will get used to it though. I'm also sure, at some point, I'll drop it at the wrong moment... which is why I'll keep my Shubb handy too!
