I own the boxed version of Ableton Live, so I have the nice printed manual. I have been known to use it occasionally, but most of the time I just work stuff out while playing around with Live. I don't play around with it nearly enough, generally just before I'm about to actually use it in a live situation. Yesterday morning I led worship at All Saint's Worcester and as I had discovered a couple of really useful things to do with mixing my monitor / foldback mix in Live I thought I'd share them.
Last night I led worship at 3:16 and DJed for the second time. The setup was very similar to last month, but I made a couple of adjustments in the hope that things would be a little easier, essentially taking some of my improvement ideas from last month.
It's really important to keep everything clean to get the very best out of your equipment and just make everything last longer. So, even though only having fairly modest use, I have come up with a simple cleaning regime that I have, so far, stuck to pretty well. All cleaning takes place at the weekend and I do it regardless of how much coffee I have made that week (well I wouldn't if I didn't make any, but that hasn't happened).
